Chapter 1051 - 1049: Rare Guest (Part 2)
"I know him too?" Igor felt a flutter in his heart, could he have guessed right?
"Not only do you know him, but many of us do as well," said Master Guzan.
"Huh?" Igor was momentarily surprised, then cautiously asked, "Is it Sol?"
"That’s right, it’s Sol!" Teacher Guzan laughed once more.
"So it’s Dastan’s clan leader, that kid."
"No wonder, he’s indeed a rare guest!"
Everyone exchanged words and returned to their usual selves, resuming their cheerfulness.
"Estev, seems your old friend is coming!" someone shouted to a one-armed man nearby.
Estev took a sip of wine: "If he’s my friend, doesn’t that make him your friend too?"
Estev chose to stay here after his ancient Soul Guardian mission failed, becoming the protector of this place.
He quickly mingled with these creatures, roaming freely on the mountain, hoping to find some clues to anticipate future risks.
"Haha, you as the deputy Court Chief are quite interesting, aren’t you going to greet your old friend now?" someone teased.
"Haha, he doesn’t need me to greet him, no one needs to greet him."
Everyone burst into laughter again.
"Master, how did you know Sol was coming here?" Igor asked, feeling a bit strange about how this news reached the Great Mentor.
"The message stated they would arrive in Gaga County around today," Master Guzan calmly said, sipping his wine.
"This..." Igor pondered deeply, wondering how the mail bird messages between him and Perkins reached the Great Mentor. It seemed illogical.
"Why, do you find it strange?" Grand Master Guzan asked.
"Uh, a little bit, I think since Sol and his crew can only reach Gaga County today, it might still take them till tomorrow to get up the mountain, reaching the base itself would be impressive," Igor scratched his head.
"Hehe, need Sol travel by normal means?" Grand Master retorted.
This question stumped Igor.
"Haha, has Igor forgotten so quickly? The Sol Family possesses a very powerful spell!" Yuga chuckled.
"Oh!" Igor slapped his thigh, suddenly remembering Sol could teleport, as long as they had someone’s information, they could transport instantaneously, faster than a sacred robe!
The atmosphere returned to its happy state, everyone resumed eating and drinking.
"Actually, I always thought the rare guest would be Senior Xiso." Igor scratched his head. "I felt only Senior Xiso would warrant such a large gathering."
"Haha, Sol and his crew deserve this gathering too, right, Estev?" Kevin playfully remarked nearby.
"Just drink your wine!" Estev responded.
"Xiso wouldn’t receive such treatment upon return, only Sol would, because we failed to safeguard Dastan for the Sol Family," Master Guzan said seriously, evidently affected by Dastan’s departure.
This remark from the Great Mentor silenced everyone, recalling only eleven remained from the original thirteen when they came to Guru Mountain, some departed, others passed away within a year. More risks and departures might come, but they must remain steadfast, knowing nowhere else was home but Guru Mountain.
"When Sol arrives, we must take him to Dawn Peak, where Dastan guarded," the Great Mentor said, hoping a drink could calm his emotions.
"Alright, Master, I’ll take Sol there," Kuren replied, recollecting fond memories of his partnership with Dastan.
Though the brief silence brought a hint of sadness, the gathering continued, with efforts to uplift their spirits again.
"No way!" Igor stood up abruptly, "That’s impossible!"
Everyone looked at Igor, puzzled by his panicked demeanor, wondering what had triggered him into such a state.
Igor scratched his head anxiously, seemingly trying hard to recall something.
"What’s wrong, Igor? What’s the matter now?" Kuren asked with concern.
"I’m pondering a question."
"What question?"
"Can the Great Mentor predict or divine?" Igor raised his head with a look of puzzlement.
"Why do you ask? The Great Mentor is an Alchemist, how would he divine or forecast? Only Yuga and Goodley possess such skills," Kevin responded promptly, thinking Igor was acting strangely.
"Did the two seniors foresee Sol’s arrival?"
"No, no." Goodley and Yuga shook their heads.
"That’s odd..."
"What’s odd?" the Great Mentor asked, intrigued by the mystery.
Clearly, Igor was a spice to the atmosphere, quickly turning the previously solemn ambiance into a lighter one.
"Because only Luona and I had mail bird exchanges, I’m the only one aware of them, so how did the Great Mentor know Sol was coming?"
"Hahaha, you’re puzzled over this?" the Great Mentor laughed heartily.
"Yes, is it so strange?" Igor couldn’t understand the humor, finding nothing amusing about it.
"Not strange, Igor, but rather, you seem quite naive!"
"Huh?" Igor felt perplexed.
"Who told you, only you could contact Luona?"
"Perkins did, saying only two lines connect to Guru Mountain, both are interfaced with me," Igor replied honestly.
"Those are Perkins’ lines contacting you," said Grand Master Guzan.
"Huh?" Igor was still unsure.
"There are others contacting Guru Mountain too!" Kevin interjected, viewing Igor as extraordinarily dense at that moment.
"Other lines?" Igor looked at the Great Mentor confusedly.
"Indeed, there’s a line connecting Dean Hoffman and me,"
"Ah!?" Igor finally realized.
Turns out he wasn’t the only contact person!
