Chapter 356 Denmark Station
Chapter 356 Denmark Station
"So small?"
Li Dabai stood by the railing, tilting his head to examine the small bronze statue.
"I thought it would be as big as the Statue of Liberty."
"Let's take a group photo."
Qin Lan invited everyone to take a group photo with the Little Mermaid.
Afterwards, we arrived at Amalienborg Palace and happened to catch the Changing of the Guard ceremony.
Guards wearing tall bearskin hats marched in orderly steps across the square, the music of a military band echoed between the ancient palace walls, and a group of local primary school students watched from the roadside, waving small Danish flags.
Over the next few days, they explored every corner of Copenhagen.
It happened to be snowing the day we went to Tivoli Park. Large snowflakes fell from the sky, landing on the roller coaster tracks, the golden dome of the carousel, and the stalls selling hot chocolate and caramelized almonds.
The entire amusement park looked as if it had been sealed inside a giant snowflake glass ball.
Tang Yan and Li Dabai went to ride the drop tower. When they reached the highest point, Tang Yan's screams echoed throughout half the park.
After getting off, her legs were so weak that she could barely stand. Li Dabai helped her sit on a bench, and she was still smiling even after a long time.
Fan Binbin, Qin Lan, and Liu Yan did not try any of the more exciting activities. Instead, they walked along a snow-covered path, with colorful lights hanging from the trees on both sides. Although it was late at night, the lights shone as brightly as a sky full of stars.
On the pedestrian street of Stralloughie, Li Dabai and Qin Lan were picking out gifts for other people.
Li Dabai picked up a dark gray cashmere scarf, held it up to Qin Lan's neck, then put it down and picked up another dark green one to compare again.
"This color suits you."
"I already have too many scarves."
"One more wouldn't be too many. It'll keep us warm."
Li Dabai asked the shop assistant to wrap up the scarf and put it into Qin Lan's hand.
"New Year's gift".
Qin Lan was stunned for a moment, looked down at the packaging bag in her hand, and looked up again to say something, but Li Xiaoran waved her hand to interrupt her.
"Alright, alright, next one."
Liu Yan and Tang Yan went into a home design store.
Candlesticks of various shapes, minimalist ceramic bowls, and warm-to-the-touch wooden cutting boards—Tang Yan picked up a small nightlight shaped like a mushroom and smiled so much her eyes narrowed.
"This is so cute, I'm going to take it home and put it on my bedside table."
Liu Yan stood to the side without saying a word. Her fingertips gently brushed against a sky-blue vase. The vase was cool and smooth as jade.
This vase matches the one in Yibai's study very well.
She thought for a moment and asked the shop assistant to wrap up the vase.
Tang Yan leaned over and took a look.
"This is so elegant. Where are you going to put it?"
"Give it away."
Liu Yan smiled but didn't explain further.
During the past few days of sightseeing, Zhang Ruoyun behaved with remarkable composure.
He always walked quietly at the back of the group, helping the older women carry shopping bags, take photos, and confirm the route.
On the evening of January 4th, our last day in Copenhagen, we ran out of money.
Qin Lan sat on the bed in her hotel room, with the account books from the past few days and the few remaining Danish kroner banknotes spread out in front of her.
She calculated it three times and confirmed that the dinner budget was only enough to buy seven of the cheapest hot dogs, and that would have to be shared between the two of them.
Fan Binbin pushed open her door and peeked in.
"Sister Lan, when are we having dinner? Everyone's hungry."
Qin Lan looked up at her and turned the account book over to show her.
Fan Binbin paused for a moment, then turned and walked towards the other end of the corridor.
Fu Yibai was sitting in his room reviewing tomorrow's schedule when there was a knock on the door.
He opened the door, and there stood his women outside.
Fan Binbin led the way, followed by Qin Lan, Liu Yan, Tang Yan, and Li Dabai in a row, while Chen Xiao and Zhang Ruoyun stood on the outermost edge, bending over to peer in.
Fan Binbin's expression was very serious.
"Mr. Fu, we need to talk."
"What is it?"
"The funds are all used up, and there's no dinner tonight."
Qin Lan added softly, her tone like she was reporting on work, but the smile in her eyes was unmistakable.
"We've been really frugal, but it's still not enough."
Prices in Northern Europe are outrageous.
Tang Yan clasped her hands together, making a pitiful expression.
"Boss, help! We don't want to go hungry!"
Li Dabai also looked at Fu Yibai with a pitiful expression.
"Mr. Fu, if you have the heart to watch us go hungry, then tomorrow you can expect seven exhausted guests to just coast through the show."
Fu Yibai looked at the group of drama queens in front of him, held back for a few seconds, and then the corners of his mouth curved up.
"Alright, alright, stop acting. Pack your things, I'm taking you out to eat tonight. It's on me."
"Long live the boss!"
Tang Yan was the first to jump up.
"Finally, I don't have to eat hot dogs anymore!"
Chen Xiao and Zhang Ruoyun gave each other a high five.
"I want to eat lobster, big steaks, and all the expensive stuff!"
"Call the whole crew, it's my treat tonight."
Everyone should go.
The expressions on the faces of the photographers afterward became quite fascinating.
The director and producers, who were discussing their next stop in the rest area, looked helpless upon hearing this.
"Our General Manager Fu is really too generous."
This season is going to be a treat for everyone!
So, in that famous century-old underground restaurant in Copenhagen, the team of dozens of people, led by Fu Yibai, enjoyed a sumptuous Nordic seafood feast.
Oysters, smoked salmon, king crab legs, and grilled lobster filled the table.
