Chapter 141 Son of Flame, Escape
Chapter 141 Son of Flame, Escape
After several more days of sailing, Lin Wei arrived at a completely new sea area. The seawater here was a deeper color, a deep blue-black.
This is a popular sea area recorded in the wizarding organization of the East Eighth District. Many first-class wizard apprentices act as captains, leading small groups to fish for sea creatures here. Bubbles occasionally rise from the surface of the sea, as if countless mysterious sea creatures are hiding there.
"I wonder how many knowledge points I can gain this time. I wish I could get another bottle of elemental spring water." Lin Wei looked at the boundless sea in front of him, put his hands together, and began to pray, his face full of anticipation.
"High-level luck, please do something about it," Lin Wei muttered, his eyes fixed on the sea.
Besides Lin Wei's small boat, more than a dozen small boats belonging to various wizarding organizations were circling in the sea. These boats varied in size and color; some had strange patterns embroidered on their sails, while others had shimmering gems inlaid on their hulls. They were all hunting at a distance, creating a tense atmosphere on the sea.
"There are quite a lot of people. It seems that apart from my little boat, there are no people from the Turing Tower." Lin Wei scratched his head speechlessly, the corners of his mouth turning down slightly.
He now understood why his organization was always looked down upon—because there were too few of them. When you're out in the world, having more people gives you confidence; even if a fight breaks out, you can call for reinforcements faster.
"Our organization is indeed in a sorry state. We're only holding up the top combat force thanks to Tower Master Robert and three first-ring wizards. Our wizard apprentices are too weak, unless you count me." Lin Wei sighed helplessly and spread his hands. "Over the years, I've been the only newcomer to join, and I've killed quite a few people."
"Over a hundred wizard apprentices in their training period, plus the group of Umby and his group who died at my hands, and the group of Gautama, that's almost ten people in total. Gautama was quite a prodigy, much stronger than the wizard apprentices in the Dune Knights." Lin Wei became more and more speechless as he spoke, his brows furrowing tightly.
"Let's find a corner and fish discreetly." Lin Wei gripped the rudder with both hands, maneuvering the small boat nimbly across the sea, stopping precisely in a corner of the area. He then took out a thin, transparent line from the cabin and swung it forcefully into the water. The line drew a graceful arc in the air before falling into the sea.
Just as Lin Wei was patiently fishing, the appearance of his small boat attracted the attention of many wizarding organizations.
A first-class wizard apprentice from the Wrath of the Mountains, holding a magical telescope and staring intently at Lin Wei's small boat, said, "A new boat has arrived. The pattern on the boat is a small tower; it's someone from the Turing Tower. How rare." A look of surprise appeared on his face.
"Never mind him, this little boat chose a corner to fish for sea creatures, so it must know its place." Beside him, a wizard apprentice said with a smile, the corners of his mouth slightly upturned, revealing disdain.
"That makes sense. We just need to mind our own business." The captain, who was holding the magic telescope, shook his head, no longer paying attention, and put the telescope away.
Lin Wei's arrival attracted the attention of many small boats, but most organizations lost interest after discovering that he belonged to the Turing Tower.
"Hey, this is Turing Tower's ship, Captain Fal, come and see!" A Fire Child small boat wizard apprentice put down his magic telescope, waved his arms excitedly, and urged, his face full of eagerness.
"Hmm? Lin Wei is up in the Turing Tower? He was handpicked by Lord Brega. Taking him out will earn us a lot of points within the organization." The captain, called Far, said with eager eyes and greed in them.
"It is indeed a ship from the Turing Tower. Let's go closer and see. If it's Lin Wei, kill him. If not, let it go." Far began to steer, turning the rudder forcefully with both hands. The small boat slowly moved towards Lin Wei's direction, leaving a white trail on the sea with its bow. "Although the Turing Tower is small and easy to bully, on the surface we are all wizard organizations and on the same side."
Achoo!
Lin Wei was sneezing incessantly, his body trembling slightly. He could vaguely sense that he was being watched. He looked up, glancing around warily, a guarded expression on his face.
"I give up. Who wants to harm me now? I just got here." Lin Wei muttered speechlessly, clenching his fists. His advanced perception spread outwards like an invisible tentacle, telling him that the gazes around him were extremely hostile.
Lin Wei also took out the magical telescope he had seized from Angbi's group, gripped it firmly in both hands, and began to look around. The sea breeze howled around him, making his clothes flutter, and waves surged one after another, crashing against the hull of the ship with a "bang, bang" sound.
"Most of the ships are quiet, but one is clearly approaching me." Lin Wei's eyes widened, his brows furrowed, and he stared intently, muttering to himself, "The Flame Child's small boat? What are these people trying to do?"
"I remember clashing with this Flame Children's organization before, and kicking some unlucky guy to death." Lin Wei frowned, a look of worry flashing in his eyes, his right hand unconsciously stroking his chin. "Could they be here for revenge?"
The movements of the Flame Child's small boat have attracted the attention of many wizarding organizations.
"What is Fal trying to do? Why did he suddenly steer the ship towards the corner?" a captain of the wizarding organization Greenleaf Messenger asked curiously. He stood at the bow of the ship, arms crossed, his eyes fixed on the Fire Child's small boat.
"This guy doesn't look well." A captain from the Blade Guardians watched the passing Flame Child's small boat, narrowed his eyes slightly, and curled his lips downwards as he came to this conclusion.
"It seems to be heading towards that new little boat. Otherwise, why didn't he change course earlier?" A witch from the Eye of the Sandstorm organization said with a sneer, her hands on her hips and her face full of disdain.
Many members of wizarding organizations have expressed their opinions.
"As expected, it's coming for me." Lin Wei's face darkened as he watched the Flame Child's small boat getting closer and closer. He turned and headed straight for the captain's cabin, shouting as he went, "Full speed ahead! Head to the outer sea!"
The ship shuddered violently with the roar of the engine, then quickly headed towards the outer sea.
"There are too many people here. I'll deal with these suicidal guys, but it's not good if too many people see it. I can't easily use my Formless Body; my strength isn't enough yet." Lin Wei muttered to himself as he walked quickly, his hands clenched into fists.
"The Turing Tower's ship has sped up and is fleeing in the opposite direction from us. Why is it running away? Could Lin Wei be on that ship?" Captain Fal of the Son of Flame saw Lin Wei's movements through his magic telescope, and his face lit up with surprise.
