Reborn in the 80s: She Rewrites Life with Radiance

Chapter 255 - 254 Full Moon

Chapter 255 - 254 Full Moon

Gu Yi sat on the sofa watching Ye Hao holding Ye Huan.He occasionally smiled at her.

Ye’s mother and Gu’s mother were chatting about daily life, occasionally guiding Ye Hao’s posture.

Gu Yi felt like life was complete.

Time flies, in the blink of an eye, Huanhuan is about to have their full moon celebration.

"Tomorrow is the baby’s full moon. We don’t plan to make it a big event, just invited a few close friends to gather. What do you think?"

Ye Hao said softly to Gu Yi, as if afraid of startling Ye Huan.

"Yeah, I think that’s pretty good. I can finally go out for some fresh air."

Gu Yi spread her arms wide, speaking with a face full of excitement.

"Have you been feeling cooped up?"

Ye Hao looked at Gu Yi indulgently.

"It’s not too bad, just sometimes I want to go out and feel the breeze, smell the flowers outside."

Gu Yi spoke longingly.

"You’ll be able to go out tomorrow. Even though it’s a full moon celebration, you still need to be careful. Just wait for me a moment."

Whilst speaking, Ye Hao handed Ye Huan to Ye’s mother and went directly back to the room.

A short while later, he came out with his hand behind his back.

"What did you get? Being so secretive about it."

Gu Yi looked at Ye Hao with sudden curiosity about what he would bring out.

Ye’s mother and Gu’s mother also craned their necks, wanting to see what he got.

"Ta-da! I found this in the cabinet. I thought you might need it tomorrow."

Ye Hao took out a knitted hat from behind him.

After seeing it, Gu Yi rolled her eyes dramatically.

Ye’s mother and Gu’s mother burst out laughing.

"Comrade Ye Hao, do you know it’s June now? Who goes out wearing this kind of hat?"

Gu Yi looked at him doubtfully.

"But your head shouldn’t be exposed to the wind. I think this is perfect, warm, and stylish."

Ye Hao turned the hat over and back several times. It’s quite nice.

"Yiyi, Ye Hao has a point. You do need to be careful going out now. Don’t let the wind blow directly on your head, or you’ll suffer from headaches later."

Gu’s mother suddenly sided with Ye Hao.

As soon as Gu’s mother spoke, Ye Hao shot a "told you so" look at Gu Yi.

"But this hat isn’t quite right. I saw you have another one more suitable for this time. I’ll go find it later."

Ye’s mother suddenly chimed in.

After Ye’s mother finished speaking, Gu Yi couldn’t help but laugh.

They were having such a good time laughing that it scared Ye Huan into crying.

Everyone quickly lowered their voices, and Ye’s mother held Ye Huan, walking around to soothe her.

Since Ye Hao was around, Ye’s mother placed Ye Huan in the small crib next to Gu Yi’s bed at night.

After Gu Yi fed Ye Huan, she headed to the bathroom to give herself a thorough wash from head to toe.

After showering, she felt several pounds lighter.

Spending the summer in confinement truly was torture.

The mothers said she couldn’t shower, so she wiped herself with mugwort water during the month.

She could smell the sour odor from her own body.

After her shower, Gu Yi returned to the room and found Ye Huan already asleep in the crib beside her.

Ye Hao was leaning against the headboard, flipping through her book.

As soon as Gu Yi came in, Ye Hao quickly picked up the towel beside him.

"Yiyi, come here, let me dry your hair for you."

Ye Hao beckoned to Gu Yi.

"So nice of you?"

Gu Yi smiled as she walked towards Ye Hao.

"Of course, I have to be very, very good to you, so you’ll love me a little more each day. That way, you won’t leave me, and I won’t have to worry about you not wanting me someday."

Ye Hao spoke with a mix of truth and jest.

"Okay, let’s see how you perform then."

Gu Yi said with a proud face.

She sat on the edge of the bed, and Ye Hao was just about to start drying her hair.

Who knew Gu Yi would kick off her shoes, turn over on the bed, and lay down, stretching her head off the bed.

"Sitting too long makes my back uncomfortable."

Gu Yi smiled innocently.

"I’ll give you a back massage later. Slide up a bit more."

Ye Hao brought over a stool for himself, draped a towel over his leg, and rested Gu Yi’s neck on the towel.

Ye Liang carefully dried Gu Yi’s hair.

Watching Gu Yi lying in his lap,

Ye Hao couldn’t help but lean down and gently kiss Gu Yi on the forehead.

Gu Yi had her eyes closed, but the touch on her forehead made her open her eyes.

"What is it?"

Gu Yi looked a bit confused.

"Nothing, just felt a strong urge to kiss you."

Once Ye Hao said this, Gu Yi felt as if something had flicked her heart.

Sweets spread from the inside out.

"Are the people from the unit coming tomorrow?"

The full moon celebration guests were all notified by Ye Hao. Although he said it’s just to gather some close friends for a meal,

people from the unit would have to work the next day.

"I told the unit that we’ll invite them once you’re done with confinement, so they won’t be coming tomorrow."

Originally, Ye Honglian and Wu Chunmei also said they wanted to come, but Ye Hao thought it would be too cumbersome to go back and forth, so he told them not to.

He’ll invite everyone when Gu Yi visits later.

"Then after my exams, I’ll take Huanhuan to the unit."

Gu Yi actually wanted to spend a few days at the unit.

Since leaving last year, she hadn’t returned to the unit.

Although there were people like Yang Lin and Chen Jun in the unit that made her uncomfortable,

she liked most of the people there, and everyone got along pretty well. Besides, Ye Honglian and the others were there.

She hasn’t seen Fang Hong’s little baby yet, who is said to be doing well.

But her exams were around the corner, so she thought it best to go to the unit after exams, staying as long as she wanted without burden.

"Sure, I always think about how great it would be to come home and find you waiting for me."

Ye Hao had been longing for this day so much that his heart ached, thinking he might never have the chance.

Unexpectedly, fate gave him another shot with Gu Yi, and he planned to cherish her this time.

He would never let Gu Yi feel sad or hurt again.

He gave Gu Yi a determined smile.

Gu Yi had an inkling of what he was thinking but said nothing, just reached out to hold Ye Hao’s hand, smiling reassuringly at him.

Early the next morning, Ye Family’s parents and Gu’s mother were up early, following their hometown customs, to prepare things for Ye Huan’s full moon celebration.

Gu’s mother boiled a pot of eggs, while Ye’s mother mixed red dye.

Finally, they soaked the eggs in the dye to turn them red, then laid them out to dry.

Ye Fu had already arranged for the old barber to come and shave Huanhuan the day before. They agreed Ye Fu would wait outside in the morning to bring him home.

Gu Yi was fully prepared for Huanhuan to cry during the shave, but to her surprise, Huanhuan was very resilient and not only didn’t cry, but seemed curious about the barber’s beard, reaching to grab it.

Afterwards, Ye’s mother collected all the clipped hair, and Ye Fu gave the barber a big red envelope and some red eggs, escorting him downstairs.

Ye Hao booked the full moon celebration at a restaurant, and around ten o’clock, he went to the restaurant to prepare.

Before he left, Ye’s mother packed several small bags of red eggs, handing them to Ye Hao to take to the restaurant.
